报告人简介：

  陈衍佐，香港中文大学地球与环境科学系副教授，国家级青年人才入选者。2019年获美国哥伦比亚大学博士学位，随后在美国斯坦福大学地球物理系进行博士后研究，2020年加入香港中文大学。主要研究方向集中于地震、火山及地表过程（包括海洋底部）。以第一或通讯作者在Nature、Science Advances、Nature Communications等期刊发表论文20余篇。

报告内容： 

In 2015, a cabled seafloor observatory was established atop Axial Seamount on the Juan de Fuca mid-ocean ridge in the Northeast Pacific Ocean. I will present results from 10 years of continuous geophysical monitoring of this active volcano. These will include (1) the dynamics of its April-May 2015 eruption; (2) how tides modulate local earthquake activity; and (3) how the tectonic-magmatic-hydrothermal system evolves over time towards the next eruption.
